Lavender Ribbon Report: Best Practices for Preventing Firefighter Cancer

The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), Volunteer and Combination Officers Section (VCOS), and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) have partnered to develop and release the Lavender Ribbon Report: Best Practices for Preventing Firefighter Cancer. This report provides 11 actions that are designed to be simple and can help mitigate the risk of cancer for firefighters. All departments, regardless of size or budget, should be able to implement most, if not all of these actions that will assist in reducing exposures to risks over time and help positively influence the health and wellness of their members.

3M™ Scott™ Fire & Safety is committed to ensuring all of its product development efforts are done with the health and wellness of the firefighters in mind. This commitment continues with the latest platforms as evidence. In addition, 3M Scott Fire & Safety continues to give back to the fire services through the funding of victim support initiatives and the contributions to studies that aid in exposure prevention and reduction, like this report.
